Hi, I’m Holly Gifford
I’m an ex-cafe & roastery owner living in beautiful Golden, British Columbia.
Having owned a small business for 7 years I know first hand how you can lose the joy of business ownership when you are bogged down by day-to-day repetitive tasks.
I have very high technical skills and love solving problems using tech and nerding out on marketing data.
I want to share my experience and passion to help you break free from those draining tasks, so you have more time for future planning and enjoying your life!
Why I’m So Passionate?
In 2014 cafe solo-ownership started out great but as soon as renovations began in the 2nd year, my personal life got complicated. All the fun parts of business ownership had to be pushed to the bottom of my to-do list as everyday became focused on catching up on bookkeeping, HR, repairs, purchasing and the hundred other things that crop up every day.
My guilt and anxiety continued to grow as I fell further and further behind and finally became extreme in 2022. Trying to re-open again, after having to close due to a leaking ceiling and a third espresso machine breaking, was too stressful.
Finally someone asked me one life-changing question… “Do you have to open again?” It blew my mind because I was so trapped in the business and all of my problems but I hadn’t seen closing as a possibility.
Happily an opportunity to start in one of the most favorite jobs I have ever had came up and I gloriously enjoyed not being my own boss and focusing on my mental health. I got to provide cheerful customer service for an adventure tour company, play with new and exciting marketing tools and design so many spreadsheets!
Now 2 years after closing my cafe I’m ready to start helping other small business owners who are feeling stuck, bogged down, and apathetic towards their business. I want to provide a safe judgement-free zone for you and help you find the space to live your life and grow your business!
